Cooling mode of motor
Before the installation of the motor, the insulation resistance of the stator winding to the casing and between the main winding and the auxiliary winding shall be measured, which is usually 1) cooling: when the motor is conducting energy conversion, there is always a small part of the loss converted into heat. It must continuously dissipate the heat through the motor casing and surrounding media. This process of heat dissipation is called cooling.
2) Cooling medium: gas or liquid medium that transmits heat.
3) Primary cooling medium: the gas or liquid medium whose temperature is lower than that of a part of the motor, which contacts with the part of the motor and takes away the heat it emits.
4) Secondary cooling medium: gas or liquid medium whose temperature is lower than the primary cooling medium will take away the heat released by the primary cooling medium through the external surface of the motor or the cooler.
5) Final cooling medium: heat is transferred to the final cooling medium.
6) Ambient cooling medium: the gas or liquid medium surrounding the motor.
7) Remote medium: a medium far away from the motor, which absorbs the heat of the motor and discharges the cooling medium to the distance through the inlet and outlet pipes or channels.
8) Cooler: a device that transfers the heat of one cooling medium to another cooling medium and keeps the two cooling media separate.
